Harry Potter Subject Logic Puzzle Walkthrough

1) Harry's clue tells us that Hermione and Hannah are in DADA
2) Hannah's clue tells us that Fred is in Herbology. Hermione's clue is not needed for the moment.
3)Fred tells us that George, Alicia and Angelina are all also in Herbology.
4)As Alicia tells us all Ravenclaw third years have Transfiguration then we know Padma, Terry and Anthony are all there.
5)As per George's clue Parvati and Padma need to be in the same lesson, so Parvati is also in Transfiguration.
6) Because of Angelina's clue we know that Seamus and Susan do not have either Potions or Herbology, because they are taught by Snape and Sprout. We also know that Luna and Lavender don't have DADA, as in Harry's third year it was taught by Lupin. If we look at column 1, Neville and Seamus either have Potions or History of Magic. We know that Seamus can't have Potions, so he must be in HOM, and Neville in Potions.
7)We haven't placed Potions in row 2, and we know from Hermione's clue that each row and column has each subject in. We know that Susan cannot have Potions as Seamus tells us that there are no girls in there. That means Ernie must be in Potions and Susan in HOM.
8) In row 1, we need to place HOM and Potions. Again by using Seamus' clue, we know that Luna can't be in Potions, so she is in HOM and Ron in Potions.
9) Luna tells us Ginny is also in HOM.
10) If we look at column 5, we need to place DADA and HOM. We know that Draco can't be in HOM, as Ginny tells us there are no Slytherins with her, so he is in DADA and Lavender HOM.
11) If we look at column 4, we still need to fit in Potions and DADA. As Cho is a girl, she can't be in Potions, so Dean is in Potions and Cho in DADA.
12) Last three and we just need to look at which subjects are missing from each row. Therefore Goyle is in Herbology and Crabbe in Potions and Katie is Transfiguration.
